IMEG is hiring a Technology Project Designer in Chicago, IL

Naperville Office,

to support the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology systems for Mission Critical & Healthcare. This role leads design efforts on low to moderate complexity projects and collaborates with senior staff on larger and higher complexity work.

You'll

work within project budgets, support project planning and delivery,

train

and mentor less experienced staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. The team supports work across education, institutional, and MEP markets, with added strength in security and technology risk systems for healthcare, federal, corrections, and mission critical settings.

What You'll Do

Lead design efforts for the analysis of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems.

Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.

Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information effectively, and build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.

Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects.

Lead project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives, and document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended.

Analyze engineering problems, propose innovative solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.

Provide in-process design reviews of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems design, calculations, and specifications, and implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements.

Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage technology (ICT) engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.

Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems.
